Opening my eyes to the heated yellow beams. The light of the sun. I covered my eyes with my hand. Looking about my surroundings and not remembering a thing. How did I get here? When did I get here? Why was I here? Walking on the concrete rubble that lied about the place Thee climb was a long one. I was naked from head to toe Once on the top of the rubble. I felt a sharp pain in my head.
The Pain was enough to render a lion to a halt. My vision blurred, balance off key and the sudden urge of thirst. Everything suddenly went black .The coolness of the water and the drowned out voices woken me once again. This time saw the most beautiful faces before me. Still lost to everything.
“How did she get out here?” One spoke
“Someone gets me a blanket. The poor thing is going to catch a cold out here like this.” Spoke an elderly woman. “Take her to my house and give her warm tea.”
I could tell she was of Asian backgrounds because of her accent. Walking with the blanket hiding my nude frame. The eyes continued to watch me as I walked toward the elderly lady’s home. Once inside I was guided to her sofa to sit and warm tea. Picking up the cup.My mind begins to race. So many questions to ask. Now that warmth was taking over. I found myself falling asleep on her sofa.
All I could hear was voices. Voices that I felt I knew. Smelling smoke as I sat up. Then looking at the fire in my village. Nothing seemed to be attached to me. Yet I felt like it was a place I had known. The intense heat beating my skin. I walked slowly hiding in places. It felt as if I had no control. My heart beating so fast. Hiding in the shadows of an old building. I heard a woman’s voice. Turning to look at her. It was an if somehow I was frozen and yet running at the same time. I could feel the fear in the scream that left my lips. Only to be shaken awake by the elderly lady.
I then realized I was dreaming. “You must've had a nasty fall or something terrible happened to you.” She spoke as she.sat in her chair. “You scream something wicked. You wake up the village with those lungs.” She smiled.
“I'm sorry.” I spoke to her.
“No need, no need. Can you tell me your name?” She spoke
“ My name is…” I took a minute to think but my name would never come to me. “I cannot remember my name.” I spoke to her softly
“No matter. I will call you Aine.” She smiles as she places a dress before me. Along with panties and bra.
“Aine, sweet name I like it.” I spoke to her.
“I gave it to you cause you remind me of someone. Seeming that you don't remember your name. You don't know how you got here. So on that note. You will start fresh with me.” She smiles.
Nodding to her as I smiled. Her home did feel safe and warm.
“Well get dress and go back to sleep. I.will show you the busy town tomorrow.” She grins as I slipped my legs into the panties and placing on the bra. Then the dress. Laying back down on her sofa, before I knew it The sun was up again.
To say the woman was elderly. She moved fast for her age. She showed me the open markets, shops, red light district and the fun places the chill out at. This place did not look like a village. Just a torn down city. Looking off at the ocean. I saw a woman walking through the crowd. Her hair coal black and shoulders length. Her eyes surprisingly blue. I slowly followed her. It was as if she was calling to me. I continued to follow her till she walked in the dark alley.
“Why are you following me?” She asked as she.turned to look at me.
That face and the look she gave me. I felt my heart sank. It felt as if my greatest fear was before me, but why? Stepping backwards out of the alley before running off. Visions begins to run rapid in my head. Things that could not be possible. People I never seen before in my head. Then the headache started again. This time a bit more powerful. I could feel everything around me go dark once again.
I woke up the first face I saw was hers. The woman I followed into the alley. Raising my hand as I slapped her across her face. Sitting up in the bed.
“It's alright Aine. She brought you home.” Spoke the elderly woman.
“Yes, you Fainted out in the street. So I had my friend to bring you home. I want to know why were you following me?” She spoke.
Thinking to myself. I shrugged my shoulders. “I do not know why. I saw you and I just followed you.” I told her.
I did not want to tell her about the urge I had to follow her. I would be labeled a crazy woman. Seeing her face. I grabbed my head once more.
“Please leave the headache is coming back.” I spoke to her.
“How often you have been getting these headaches?” She asked.
“She has been having nightmares lately and the headaches too. I believe her memory is slowly coming back to her.” Said the elderly lady.
Looking down at my fingers. It was all true I had been having nightmares and headaches since I was found.
“Maybe we can help her.” She spoke.
“Now look if it's to help her I let her go. Let her memory gradually come to her. Do not force it.
She is like a daughter to me. If you hurt her. I never forgive you.” she spoke as she walked
in front of me. “Now she and her friends are going to help you get better, but don't forget about
dear old me. Alright sweetie?” She smiles before kissing my cheek.
“I never forget you mother.” I spoke after all she took care of me like a daughter she was my mother.
Turning to face the woman and nodded to her. That is when my journey began.
