In the morning when Moon awoke, Snowhalk was still laying on his chest. He carefully tipped sideways and put her onto her own bedroll. Moon got up and went to the nearby lake. as he quenched his thirts he sensed Snowhalk sit up behind him.
"Moon?" She asked loudly.
"Over here" He could sense her relaxing again. I thought he left,thought Snowhalk.
"We still have half a days walk since we got sidetracked yesterday." Moon said. He painted a map for Snowhalk to memorize. As she was memorizing the map he carefully wrapped up his bedroll in which the sword that was concealed in there fell out. Snowhalk picked it up and then lunged it at him. Thinking this was betrayal he moved into combat stance, but the ftt of a shuriken hitting a blade filled the air. Snowhalk jumped up and threw Moon his own sword. Moon cocked his head listening. it was true, every bird in the forrest had stopped singing.
As Moon and Snowhalk held their swords up protectivly a figure stepped out from the shadows. Moon raised his sword and pointed it at the figure that was 8 feet away. The figure gave a chuckle.
"No need to be hasty" The figure laughed at him. Moon gritted his teeth. He just tried to kill him!
"No i didn't try to kill YOU, I was trying to kill HER!" he said, reading Moons thoughts. He heard Snowhalk gasp.
"Who are you?" She asked confused.
"Oh don't you just love reunions?"
"what are you talking about?" Snowhalk spat. The figure then lifted his hood. Then to their horror more agents stepped out of the forrest, surrounding them.
"Kill him, but take her alive!" The un-hooded person ordered. Moon cursed. There was NO way of getting out of this, they were defeated. Suddenly a man on a horse burst through the trees
"All for the Grey Light!" At once Moon knew him, his best friend Groundspider, and about 30 other men from G.L.O joined them.
" WE have no doubt this is over!" screeched the un-hooded man. And then they threw a smoke bomb so they could escape. After the smoke thinned out Groundspider walked up to them.
"Who's the girl?" He asked.
"Im Snowhalk"
"Gee can i call you Snowy?"
"No"
"yeah ok"
"Either she comes back or i don't go back" Moon interupts.
"gee Moon your pretty confident about that" Groundspider says in mock-seriousness
"Because i am"
"ok then get a horse" Groundspider pointed to 2 horses that were attatched to the others horses. Once they were one, they were on their way.
"how did you know we needed help?" Moon asked.
"Well we had to follow them, not knowing that it was you they were after kid"
"Im not a kid!" Groundspider laughed.
Back at the monastry Snowhalk was welcomed with open arms. Moon's potions teacher, Heron was first to talk.
"Snowhalk we are very glad to have you join us, but we need to ask you some questions first" And Heron led her into her office along with all the other teachers.
"Gee Moon where'dya get her from?" Groundspider asked. Moon looked at Groundspider.
"Well she sorta found me"
"she's kinda pretty" At this Moon through his bamboo staff at Groundspider, which he caught and threw back.
"What have you got against me saying that kid?"
"Because.."
"Because why?..."
"Because.."
"Moon did you sleep with her? Honestly your 15" Said Groudnspider in a Mocking tone. Moon turned around in rage.
"why would you think that?!"
"You know why kid"
"IM NOT A KID!" Moon yelled. At that moment Snowhalk stepped out of the office.
"What are you fighting aboiut NOW?" Snowhalk asked in Mock-disappiontment. Groundspider smiled and looked at Moonshadow.
"Yeah Moon, what WERE we talking about?"
"uhhh..ummm.w.w.we um" Moon was nervous. What should he say??
"We were talking about.." Groundspider started untill Moon shoved a Rice Sweet into his mouth.
"We were talking about the Cherry Blossoms" Moon gave a fake smile.
"Mkay" Snowhalk walked off. Ground spider started to laugh.
"Good job kid.........."
When it was time for dinner Groundspider walked in with a fresh black eye that Moon was proud of.
"Sushi?" Heron asked Groundspider, trying to fight back a giggle.
"Nnng" Groundspider murmured.
"gee what happened to your face?" Snowhalk asked. Moon knew, he didn't liek to be called kid, so Groundspider got what he was asking for.
"I ran into a tree" Groundspider looked at Moon "Didn't I?" Moon nodded but didn't try to fight the smile. They all knew that Moon had punched him. Heron had even heard the impact from the kitchen.
"Which one?" Heron asked with a smile. Groundspider stuttered.
"ummm the red one"
"we have a red tree now?' Heron asked with a sly smile.
"Well it's red now" said Moon with a smirk. Groundspider grunted. Snowhalk giggled, and Heron kept a passive face.
"I hope the tree is ok" said Snowhalk with a laugh.
"That's why there is no red tree, i knocked it over" Groundspider said.
"yeah sure" The rest of dinner was silence.
As Moon sat next to the foutain in the garden, he looked up to see Snowhalk.
"hey, what are you doing out here all by yourself?"
"I don't know, just thinking i guess"
"about what?" Snowhalk said as she sat down beside him.
"Us" at that Snowhalk smiled...
